About Shannon Emmel
Mental Health Therapist
Shannon specializes in providing a safe space for her clients to vent, find relief, clarity or to gain tools to access whatever goals they are working toward. She loves learning new therapeutic approaches, techniques, research and tools - but the most important key she finds in providing quality therapy is her ability to provide a consistent, present, honest and non-judgmental presence. She always works toward the goal of supporting her clients in leaving her sessions feeling less stress, more clarity or just a bit more hope.
Shannon lives in Ellicott City in her childhood home, with her amazing and supportive husband and four children, ages 5-12, her three gorgeous cats, one corn snake and one fish. They are all the loves of her life and Motherhood is one of the most important things to her.
Shannon enjoys travel, hiking and and exploring new places and parks, as well as birding and amateur wildlife photography. Her favorite kind of day is when she gets the chance to wander the woods or beach with her camera. She also loves gardening, music, good food, swimming, writing poetry, art, photography, volunteering with animals, and being outdoors.
Her dreams are to continue manifesting the things she loves in life and enjoying life as much as she can. As a therapist, she works hard to support her clients in doing the same!
