Reclaiming your power. Fertility treatments and pregnancy loss can erode us of our confidence, connection to self, trust in body and personal power. This workshop will honor the emotions of the powerlessness felt and help you reclaim a sense of confidence and energy to help you move forward. Movements will focus on big, chest-opening postures and strong standing postures to help you reclaim you inner warrior. Mindfulness practices and body attunement cues will help you reconnect to your inner thoughts, feelings and body sensations. Meditations and affirmations will center around the Solar Plexus chakra, the seat of our self esteem and confidence. Class will end with a guided meditation, reading from Journey to the Heart and a cool lavender towel. This Workshop includes a trauma-informed yoga sequence and therapeutic process discussion on how to cope with the uncertainty and loss of control while Trying to Conceive. Increase connection to your body, reduce stress and tension in your body, and practice yogic movements to promote fertility. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Every movement will offer modifications to allow you to listen to your body and find your own expression. Dates and Themes: Tuesday October 8th: 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Yoga for Advocacy and Empowerment – Thursday October 24th 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Yoga for Body Image and Acceptance Thursday November 14th 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Yoga for Grief and Letting Go $30/session or $75/all sessions ---------------------- What is Trauma Informed Yoga? A Yoga practice that combines Vinyasa Yoga, Polyvagal Theory, Mindfulness and Somatic Experiencing. It is less directive than traditional yoga to allow for participants to choose their own expression and connect more deeply to their inner world. It offers more choice and empowerment than traditional practices and is rooted in scientific principles of regulating the nervous system. Rebecca Radcliffe is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland. She has completed a 50-hour Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher Training (TIYTT) for Health Care Professionals through the Body Wise Foundation.
